The Skutik Indigenous Protected and Cultural Area has built numerous strategic and innovative partnerships. With learnings, teachings, sharing, and collaboration at our core, we are thrilled to work with the following organizations to advance Indigenous Protected and Conserved/Cultural Areas across Turtle Island.

Mi’gmawe’l Tplu’taqnn Inc.

Mi’gmawe’l Tplu’taqnn is a non-profit organization whose members are the nine Mi’gmaq communities in New Brunswick: Amlamgog (Fort Folly) First Nation, Natoaganeg (Eel Ground) First Nation, Elsipogtog First Nation (Big Cove), Oinpegitjoig (Pabineau) First Nation, Esgenoôpetitj (Burnt Church) First Nation, Tjipõgtõtjg (Buctouche) First Nation, L’nui Menikuk (Indian Island) First Nation, Ugpi’ganjig (Eel River Bar) First Nation and Metepenagiag Mi’kmaq Nation.

Fort Folly Habitat Recovery

The Fort Folly Habitat Recovery Program is focused on restoring traditionally important species and their habitats, especially the critically endangered inner Bay of Fundy Atlantic salmon. The program was initiated in 1993, focusing mainly on restoration projects surrounding local environmental issues.

Maliseet Nation Conservation Council

Formed in 2004, the MNCC is a non-profit corporation created to increase the involvement of Maliseet people in the decision making processes in our traditional territory – the Wolastoq (Saint John River) watershed and Bay of Fundy. The Board of Directors for MNCC is comprised of the six Maliseet Chiefs in New Brunswick governing a staff of six full-time employees.

Wolastoqey Nation in New Brunswick

The Wolastoqey Nation in New Brunswick (WNNB) is the technical advisory body for the six Wolastoqey communities in the province. Governed by the elected Chiefs of the six communities, they provide expert advice on land and resource projects, and ensure strength, unity, and empowerment for their people.
