Darran O'Leary - Lands Manager
Darran has been working with the Peskotomuhkati Nation for over seven years and serves as Lands Manager, leading the Skutik Indigenous Protected and Cultural Area (IPCA) project. He brings extensive experience in project management, team leadership, coaching, negotiations, and budget planning. By working closely with Elders, Knowledge Keepers, biologists, naturalists, and youth, Darran fosters strong relationships and helps bridge gaps between Crown entities, NGOs, and community members.

Kate Slorach - Lands Project Coordinator
Kate has worked with the Peskotomuhkati Nation for five years and holds a BSc in Environment and Natural Resources from the University of New Brunswick. She brings strong project management skills along with expertise in GIS mapping, plant identification, research, and grant writing to the Skutik IPCA project. Kate works with partners on land-based initiatives, with a current focus on addressing climate change impacts on coastal shorelines in the Passamaquoddy Bay.

Vanessa Vongnhay - Field Coordinator
Vanessa has been working with the Peskotomuhkati Nation for just over a year. She holds a BSc in Plant Science and an MSc in Plant Biochemistry and Physiology from the University of Guelph. Vanessa brings expertise in plant identification, research, GIS mapping, and technical writing. She leads the Nation’s hydroponics project in collaboration with St. Stephen High School, is developing a herbarium, and coordinates baseline surveys, monitoring, and stewardship initiatives across the Skutik IPCA.

Allan Fraser Jr. - Resource Management Officer Technician
Allan brings extensive knowledge of on-the-ground stewardship needs across the entire Peskotomuhkati Territory. As a member of the Peskotomuhkati Nation, he is deeply familiar with the land and waters, and plays a key role in guiding enhancement and restoration projects. Allan monitors the territory with a particular focus on streams, identifying areas where debris has blocked fish passage and ensuring these vital waterways receive the care and stewardship they need.

Brian Hartford - Skitkomiq Kinap (Earth Protector)
Brian has worked with the Peskotomuhkati Nation for four years. As SkitKomiq Kinap, Brian’s skillset is broad, ranging from extensive knowledge in animal tracking to apt navigation skills. He leads the Big Game Monitoring project, tracking moose, deer, bear, and turkey to understand climate change impacts and help ensure these culturally important species can be hunted sustainably in the future. Brian also supports stewardship across the Skutik IPCA.

Kaydie Greenier - Field Technician
Kaydie has been working with the Peskotomuhkati Nation for over a year, beginning as a summer student before joining the team full-time. A member of the Peskotomuhkati Nation, Kaydie is passionate about learning and revitalizing the language and is in the early stages of developing educational programming for youth in the community. They also lead a project that monitors the mortality of New Brunswick’s three native turtle species, with the goal of reducing road-related deaths and creating safer nesting habitats.

Sarah Smith - Administrative Assistant
Sarah has been a valued member of our team for over a year, bringing strong organizational skills to her role as Administrative Assistant. She coordinates the Peskotomuhkati Food Pantry, ensuring community members have reliable access to food support. Sarah plays a key role in event planning and managing day-to-day office operations, helping our organization run smoothly and effectively.
